And I have to admit, ...That does sound interesting. And I have to admit, I simply loved your little "rant" about using adverbs. Of course, we have to be free to write the way we feel we have to. There are stories that ask to be written in a flowery style, with loads of adjectives and adverbs. And there are others that demand to be written in short, brisk sentences, with no other verbs than "to be" and "to have". We make a point by the style we use. It's no good saying "he is sad and blue" when we can express the same thing, and much better, by decriptions, the choice of negative adjectives, by creating a mood, an atmosphere.
